There is a difference between marketing and sales but unfortunately it seems we’ve gotten the two mixed up. And it’s hurting our business. This week we concentrate on Marketing – letting them know you exists. In an upcoming week we’ll talk about Sales – giving them a choice.

Here are my 3 Tips to help you with your own marketing:

  1. No one is going to do it for you if you aren’t tooting your own horn first. Be bold and be noticed.
  2. Don’t dismiss “old school” marketing strategies. A lot of people have abandoned mailing things. You have a good chance of being noticed with something as simple as a postcard or thank you note!
  3. Don’t dismiss social media simply because you haven’t taken the time yet to learn how to use it. Develop a strategy and then find the tool. Get help. If social media has the power to change governments, think of what it could do for your business!

Marketing is about planting seeds. “Planting” is an action verb. You’ve got to get out there and do it.
